More private jets in Ibiza than in any previous year

The airport of Ibiza handled more private jets from January to September than in any other year since 2011, informed the airport operating company AENA.

In the first nine months of 2021, the Es Codolar tower carried out a total of 12,307 landings and take-offs of private jets with 31,559 passengers on board, surpassing all the figures of the past decade.

Not only has air traffic in private aircraft recovered after the crisis, it is even emerging from it stronger. When the Spanish government decided to relax transport restrictions in late June 2020, jet activity recovered significantly: “While commercial aviation suffered from having difficulty getting planes into the sky, private aviation took off with ease,” summarizes the local press.

In fact, Ibiza recorded more jets and more passengers in the first nine months of this year than in any other year since 2011, when AENA started keeping statistics on them.
